Kickbutt britt's review of Dante's Girl by Courtney Cole

Okay so since this is my first review on this blog i'll let y'all know how I roll. Im not a essay long reviewer im short n sweet so here goes:

I rate this book 4 karate kicks

Strong independent female lead-check
Exotic destination I can only dream of going to-check
Hot sexy male lead who sweeps me err I mean uh yeah-check
Drama and twist-check

The only downfall I have is I, I repete, I have is I felt there were to many loose ends at the end but I guess thats why its book number one besides that I LOVED it. Reece is on her way to visit her father in london which she is not excited about she gets laidover in amsterdam and BAM and I mean BAM enters Dante (swoon). I dont like to spoil anything sooo some drama happens and Reece soon finds herself staying with Mr.Swoon (no thats not his last name lol) things go smoothly for awhile and then events happen that make Reece wonder if her and dante could ever be. Some more drama happens then happy cliffhanger. If you want to know all the juicy dets you'll have to pick it up yourself lol hope you enjoy :)

Arson by Estevan Vega *Review*

ARSON is the first book in a Young Adult Paranormal series. Book two, ASHES, is also available now.

ARSON GABLE FEELS LIKE A FREAK. HE CAN CREATE FIRE. HE NEVER ASKED FOR IT. HE NEVER WANTED IT. BUT HE CAN'T SHUT IT OFF.

Before now, three things were true: he both loved and despised his grandmother; his life was going nowhere; and he was alone. But when a strange girl--who feels more normal behind a mask than inside her own skin--moves in next door, Arson hopes to find something he's never had: purpose. After years of living in fear, he will be forced to confront his haunting past and embrace the unknown as he walks the fine line between boy and monster. Edgy, realistic, and breathtaking, Arson, the chilling chronicle of an isolated teenager with unimaginable ability, is set to ignite the hearts and minds of a new generation.

Arson (Arson, #1)

First let me start this off with how much I am in love LOVE love with this cover! This was not the cover I seen first... I am a cover whore *it's wrong, I know it but there it is*. When I went to read this the other day I was like HOLY WOW! That cover is the Hottness! So yeah... that made it even better for me b/c I could see Arson now.

Want to find the Amazing Rock Your World Estevan Vega? Well here is where you can find him on the web... no I don't know where is lives... don't ask ;) I know he's a hottie himself

Review :

The writing in this book is nothing short of stunning. I loved the flow of this. You are thrown right into Arson's life and it is messy. He is a great character, deep, dark, and a loner. These things you learn as you go and are not by his choosing. I love that you get to learn more and more about him as you go along and it's not all thrust at you at once. It's like a puzzle you need to figure out.

All the characters you are introduced to are fascinating. Each has their own secrets and stories. They are also well thought out and twisty.

The imagery was also very creeptastic! I keep in visioning the road he must walk to get home as something around this but with loads more trees..

I really enjoyed getting into everyone of their heads. Arson is especially interesting, and when everything comes to a head at the end... You are left wanting.... MORE! I am seriously into this story, why you ask, because it is written in a blow you away kind of style.

Get it and get consumed by the fire!!

Author: Kailin Gow

Summer has always looked forward to spending her summers at her Aunt's beach house with the Donovans. To her, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house was magical, especially getting to spend time with the Donovans - her best friend Rachel and Rachel's brothers Nathaniel, and Drew. Here at Aunt Sookie's beach house, they can be anyone and anything they dreamed. For Summer, she had always wished to become as pretty as Rachel and for her brothers to think of her as more than Rachel's friend. For Nat and Drew, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house meant fun and escape, a place where they go to with their mom and sister for the summer, away from city life. They never thought this summer would be different. They never thought things would change as much as they did...and it all began with them falling for and loving Summer.

Heart Waves Blog Tour Stop **POV Guest Post**

I am so glad I got to be on this tour! I have now read 2 of Danielle's books and I have enjoyed them both... Today I have an Awesome Guest Post from Jenna's POV *main character in Heart Waves*

Thank you so much for having me here Heather. Just want to say you really are a Supa girl! Ok, I’ll get to the point, what was it like when I met Reece? Hmm.

It's like placing a lit candle on the table in front of a toddler and walking away. The child knows it shouldn't touch, you've explained that the flame is hot and dangerous, but the child can't resist, the draw to the dancing flame is too strong, it's beautiful and enticing. That was what it was like when I met Reece Walton. The instant he placed his ring in my hand I wanted, needed to be with him. I also knew like that candle, he threatened to cause me searing pain.

I'm not psychic. I pick up energy from objects and interpret it. The stronger the bond to the object, the stronger the energy on it. That's what I was doing when I met Reece. We were at a party, one I didn't want to be at, and I was passing the time waiting to leave.  That's when I heard his voice and I froze. I'd never heard anything so beautiful. Reece slipped his ring in my hand. And the words slipped out of my mouth without thought. "It's like Romeo and Juliet, you're going to break my heart." Why couldn't I pick a love story with a better ending? What if I would've said we're like Edward and Bella instead? At least then I would've known we had a chance at a happy ending and I wouldn't have been so frightened.

Aside from my dire prediction, we had one other major obstacle between us. I have trust issues. It's simple. If you're a guy I don't trust you. Even from our first encounter I could tell Reece was different. He wasn't pawing at me like guys usually do, he spoke to me. And when we touched  . . . I never felt anything like it! I fell deeper under his spell, free falling with no ground in sight. After we went our separate ways all I could focus on was finding him. Turns out he found me instead. Still I resisted. Until I saw him with another girl. Talk about gut wrenching experiences.

Torn between the promise of a once in a lifetime love and soul crushing heartbreak I had a choice to make. At least I tried to convince myself I had a choice. The truth is, the choice was never mine. From the moment we met, I knew he was my destiny. I had to be with him. He was my soul mate.

If you want to know more you're going to have pick up the book and take the journey with us.

Sooo good! You want to read this... Here is where you can find the book and more about Danielle

Author Info:

I made my entrance into the world in a little known hospital located within walking distance of Moscow’s famed Red Square.  For the next eleven years I lived the life of an ordinary Soviet child, in then communist Russia, until my family’s emigration to the United States in 1982.  It was a difficult adjustment, but eventually I became an all American teenager who loved to watch soap operas and listen to pop music.  Due to my love of reading I was able to pick up English very quickly and was an honor student throughout my school career.
After graduating from Bernard M. Baruch College in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business I worked in advertising for two years before coming to realize that long hours and low wages were not the life for me.  I shifted my focus to Import/Export and worked my way up to the position of Import Manager in a large textile house before leaving the work force in 2006 to focus on my autistic son.

It wasn’t until I had been at home for some time that I began to write.  Eventually my characters began to take on a life of their own and have conversations in my head.  Once I started writing my musings down the stories came easily enough.  I incorporated my love of history and travel into my writing to create a rich and detailed background for my characters.  Since then I have written five novels.  I am currently working on a sequel to “The Hands of Time.”

I live in New Jersey with my husband and two children.

M. Leighton Week *Jackson POV*

So ... It's our last day with M Leighton Week

*Cries*

But no worries!! We have a SupaSpecial Something for ya!! Oh yeah It's Jackson's POV!!

Take it away Jackson....

(Jackson and Madly’s first kiss- JACKSON’S POV)
I had an idea, a way we could avoid looking suspicious as we scouted the Stratford house.  I tried to ignore the fact that my plan involved teasing Madly, something I knew to avoid at all costs.  The last thing I needed was for her to stop hating me.
“Come on,” I instructed, taking her by the hand.
I felt her fingers tremble within my grasp.  I tried to ignore it.
We emerged from the dappled shade of the trees into the bright sunshine.  I stole a sidelong glance at Madly.  What I saw was like a sucker punch to the gut.
She was bathed in light from head to toe.  Her hair glistened like platinum and her skin glowed in creamy perfection.  She turned her face up to the sun.  I watched the golden rays kiss her lips, lips I’d been dreaming about for forever it seemed.
As I watched her, I knew I finally had an excuse to let my guard down.  And damn it all, I was going to do exactly that.
“Do you remember when I almost dismembered Collin DeSpirito because he tried to kiss you against your will after your third-level graduation?”
Madly looked up at me, at first in surprise and then in confusion.
“What?” I asked.  I couldn’t stop my smile.  I was very satisfied with the way the plan was working out.  Very!  Despite the obvious pitfalls, I knew it would be worth it to spend a few minutes with Madly just being myself, the self that couldn’t get her out of my head.  “You mean you don’t remember that?”
“Of course I remember that.  I just- I’m just—”
I laughed, as much at her reaction to me as the memory of Collin DeSpirito.
“Who could blame the poor guy?  The way you flirted with him—touching his arm and laughing up at him—he was overcome by your extraordinary beauty.  I’m sure if I had killed him, he’d have died happy.”
“I wasn’t flirting with him.  I was just—”
“Oh, come on!  You had the attention of every guy at the ceremony.  It’s almost as if you were trying to make someone jealous.” Before I thought better of it, I winked at her.  I was caught off guard by how happy I was just being with Madly.
Before she could comment, the prolonged creak of an opening door reached our ears.  I stopped and turned toward Madly.  We weren’t alone.
It was time to turn up the heat and make our ruse convincing.  I ignored my inner Sentinel as he asked me who I was trying to convince.  “Admit it.  You were trying to make me jealous.” She looked so confused by my turnabout I had to prompt her by whispering, “Sell it, Madly.”
Her face was not only beautiful, but very expressive.  I watched in fascination as understanding dawned and, with it, determination.
What is she up to?
It wasn’t until she turned on her brightest smile then stretched up on her toes and wrapped her arms around my neck that it clicked.  She was going to play along.  But she was going to play dirty.
“Of course I was trying to make you jealous.  How else was I going to get you to kiss me?”
She was taunting me, challenging me.
Challenge accepted, I thought.  Gladly!
“Is that what you wanted?  For me to kiss you?” I would likely never have another opportunity to touch Madly freely and I wasn’t about to let the chance pass me by.  I dragged my fingertips up and down her sides, trying not to imagine what it would feel like to reach around and cup her perfect breasts.  When she shivered, I felt it all the way down in the pit of my stomach.  And, of course, much lower.
“Mmm,” she murmured.
All I could think about in that moment was doing something to elicit that delicious sound again.  I knew it was only fair to warn her first, but I didn’t give her much time to react.  “You asked for it,” I said then quickly covered her mouth with my own.
I didn’t intend to do more than just barely brush her lips.  But then I felt the electricity.  The jolt made its way through my body and erased every ounce of wisdom I possessed.
Before I knew it, my hand was in her hair and I was devouring her mouth.  Her lips parted, giving me just a tiny taste of the sweetness of her tongue, and I heard a groan.  I couldn’t be sure if it was hers or mine. It mingled between our lips like we shared it.
“What are you kids doing in my yard?” a harsh, old voice called, shattering the moment and awakening me to our purpose there.  It took me several seconds to find my way back from where I’d wanted to take Madly, from a place where that mouth and that body and that princess could be mine.
“Sorry, ma’am,” I called.  “We were just out for a walk, heading that way.” I pointed toward the other side of her house.
“Be on your way then.  There’s no trespassing on my property.”
“Yes, ma’am.  I apologize.  We were just leaving.”
I turned to continue our walk, taking Madly’s hand and pulling her along with me.  It was over.  But God, how I didn’t want it to be!
*stutters* *stares* LOVED That!!! So I want to take a minute to say a Huge Thank You to the Amazing Author who writes all the AMAZING stuff!! Leighton You Rock it Out Girl!!

M Leighton Week *Jersey POV*

If you are just now joining us this week... You must go catch up! It all starts HERE

Today we get a POV from the Fab Jersey! I love this girl and thinks she is a Rockin Chick *mer* whatevs

So Take it away Jersey!!

(When Madly sees Jackson teasing Jersey—JERSEY’S POV)

“I think I need to hear some begging,” Jackson declared, holding me high above his head. I couldn’t help but giggle. I missed seeing the light, fun, carefree side of my brother. It had never been easy to dig out, him being a Sentinel and all, but it certainly used to show itself more often before he was sent away to train. Away from Madly.
He spun me around. “You are the best brother ever.  You are the most handsome brother ever.  You are the smartest brother ever.  You are the strongest brother ever.  You are the…”
I trailed off when I saw Madly standing in the doorway. She was slumped against the door jamb, a beautifully content smile on her face as she watched Jackson. She closed her eyes, as if she were savoring the moment. Savoring him.
Damn, that girl is head over heels for him!
When the silence grew noticeable, she opened her eyes and looked at my brother. I didn’t have to be able to see his face to know he was watching her. His entire demeanor had changed, like it always did when Madly was around. She was the only person in the world who couldn’t see it.
Slowly, Jackson let me down, all remnants of good cheer gone.  For just a second, I considered doing something drastic, like announcing that they were both in love with each other and demanding that they kiss and get it over with. The suspense was killing even me, for god’s sake! But Jackson would never forgive me. He’d suffered so much to keep his standing as a Sentinel, to give Madly the best chance he could for happiness. What Jackson didn’t realize was that Madly will never be happy with anyone else. And I was pretty sure she was starting to see that.
Shaking off the thoughts, I punched Jackson in the arm and ran for the door. As usual, the tension-breaking duties were left up to me. My role as little sister and best friend was an important one, whether they realized it or not.
I nearly ran Madly over. She was still standing in the doorway, staring at Jackson like he was the last drop of water on the planet and she needed him to survive. In a way, I guess she did.
Stupid kids, I thought before turning to taunt Jackson one more time. At least one of us had to act normal, and it didn’t look like it was going to be either of them any time soon.
“See you later, sucka!” I said, slamming the door shut and locking it quickly.
“What was that about?” Madly asked, as if I was too clueless to notice what just happened. But that was all right. I could play along if that’s what they needed me to do. They’d tell me when they were ready. Until then, I’d just enjoy the show.
Still smiling my I’ve-got-a-secret smile, I walked casually away from the door.  “Oh, nothing.  Just harassing Jackson.”

See... How can you not love her! She is an amazing sister and bestie. So... does this make you see that she is NOT in the dark *lol*

M Leighton Week *The Lost Pages at the End of Book 3*

It is here!!! If you have read Madly and the Jackal well you CANNOT MISS this!

These are the "lost" pages at the end of book 3 Madly and the Jackal and Imma just go ahead and be all ....

*Happy Dance*

Ok enough from me... Here is the Awesomeness!! Thank you M! I totally Heart You!

As Jackson lay atop me, his breathing ragged and heavy, I watched the items in the room settle back to Earth. It’s as though the atmosphere mirrored my turbulent emotions. I wondered at the strange occurrence, wondered what it could mean. I feared that I might know.
Jackson pressed his lips against my neck then my jaw then moved them up to mine. His kiss was tender and sincere, full of all the love I knew he had for me, love he’d always have for me. The Lore had tried to steal it, but not even their dark magic could take away something so deep and powerful.
That knowledge settled over my heart like a warm, comforting blanket. It smothered all the doubt and heartache of the last few days and left me with nothing but the bone-deep assurance that nothing—no person, no spirit, no law, no curse—could ever destroy our love. Jackson and I were written in the stars and in the sands thousands of years ago. Our purpose would be fulfilled, but only through our extraordinary love.
In that moment, I knew we shared something the world had never seen, something that would change the entire Mer culture. Our love was and is meant to transcend people and bias and time and struggle. Our love is meant to be forever, eternal.
When Jackson leaned back, I could see the worry etched in the lines on his brow. I thought back to the feeling that something had died a little under the curse of The Jackal and Hyden. As I looked in his eyes, I knew what it was. It was the doubt of mortal love. Like steel that passes through fire over and over again, my love for Jackson had passed through hell. And now it was stronger than any material Mer or humanity had ever seen. Our love would conquer all. Our love would last until the end. Our love would change our world.
“What is it?” he asked, rubbing his fingertips over my temple.
I smiled, a wide, genuine smile. “Nothing. I just realized that you’re mine. Really mine. And I’m yours. Forever.”
Jackson smiled, too. It was full of relief. And love. Profound, abiding love. “You’re just now realizing that?”
I shrugged. “I’m a slow learner. What can I say?”
He chuckled. “Better late than never.”
With that, he gave me a peck on the lips and rolled off me. He sat up and set his feet on the floor and I saw him still. I don’t think he was even breathing.
“Um, Madly, what happened in here?”
There were clothes and plates and books and shoes all over the floor. It looked as though someone had tossed the room looking for drugs, like they do in the movies.
“I think something’s happening to me, Jackson.”
He turned to look at me, the lines of worry back on his face. “What do you mean?”
“I did this.”
“How?”
“I don’t know. We were making love and I opened my eyes and I saw…” I gestured to the room with my hand.
Jackson turned to scan the floor once more before looking back at me. Cupping the back of my neck with one hand, he pulled me toward him and pressed his lips to my forehead then leaned his against it. “You know we can get through anything, right? Whatever it is.”
I smiled. “I know. As long as I have you, the rest doesn’t matter.”
“Then the rest will never matter, because you will always have me, Madly. Always.”
And maybe for the very first time ever, I believed him.
