Review : The Damned bu Andrew Pyper

The Damned
Author : Andrew Pyper

THE DAMNED is the story of Danny Orchard, a survivor of a near-death experience haunted by his beautiful, vindictive twin sister, Ash, who died in the fire that nearly took his life when they were teenagers. He’s written a best-selling book about going to Heaven and back, which has brought him fame and fortune. But unlike most people with near-death experiences, Danny didn’t come back alone. Ash refuses to let Danny go.

Growing up in Detroit, Ash appeared to be a popular cheerleader, but only Danny and his parents knew that she was a budding psychopath who terrorized her family before her death. Now she’s haunted Danny for twenty years, and he can’t find peace despite his fame and fortune as a writer. He’s almost come to terms with this, until he meets the love of his life.

Danny thinks he finally has a chance at real happiness in Boston—until Ash decides that she wants to punish Danny for surviving once and for all, setting her sights on his new wife and stepson. Danny’s prepared to sacrifice himself to save his family, but how can he find his sister in her own territory? And this time…can he make her stay in Hell?

THE DAMNED is a cinematic thriller that plays with what lies beneath the surface of mundane experiences. It’s already optioned for film by Legendary Pictures (best known for the Dark Knight movies, Inception, and Interstellar) and will satisfy readers who love the supernatural, suspense, and a well-told, absolutely terrifying story.

Review:

It's been awhile since I've read anything that was truly scary and twisted. Psychological scary is what I love best. This book delivers! The Damned has a great story line and spot on pacing. From one minute to the next you have no idea what is going to happen.  Extremely well written so that you will be sucked into the world created on the pages.

If you want to delve into a keep the lights on don't read this at night kind of book Then grab this one up!
